Blog Spotlight: Letters from the Heart

A month ago, a blog organized by some of my author friends of anonymous letters posted one that really affected me: “Letter to my Mini-Me.” Although, I, myself, have never faced any of the atrocities the author of this letter wrote, the story of enduring and eventually overcoming a dark history made me want to hug the author, and gave me the perspective I sometimes need to be reminded of when I feel like I’m losing a battle against my own personal demons. It acknowledges the need of your past self for your present self to exist, and that’s a message that really resonates with me. “Letter to my Mini-Me” also ends on an “it got better” note which leaves me hopeful—something we could all use more of, especially in the crazy times we live in.
