We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I’ve been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.
But I’m done hiding from him now, and there’s no way in hell I’ll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It’s time to fight back.
I’m not going to let him bully me anymore.
This novel contains adult/mature young adult situations. It is only suitable for ages 18+ due to language, violence, and sexual situations.
A 100% engaging story with strong characters and an interesting plot. However, I didn’t like Tate and Jared together. Maybe it’s because of my own experience with certain people in middle school, but if I had been in Tate’s position, I would never forgive Jared, much less want to date him.
I like Tate, but her best friend K.C. was shitty for going along with Jared’s plan (even if she was using him for her own purposes), and for all of Jared’s friends’ Madoc’s shit, he didn’t seem like an awful guy on his own. He even says that he only backed Jared up in tormenting Tate, not that he personally had anything against her.
Normally, I need to like characters and plot to give a good rating, but this story was so engaging that while I didn’t like the actual story, I was flipping as fast as I could on my iPhone kindle app to reach the end. And I have to give credit where credit is due, so on storytelling alone, this book gets 3 stars from me.
