I studied her pretty face. Her gaze locked with mine. “Why would I be afraid to want things?”
“Because when you admit what you want, you have something to lose. You can’t lose anything if you don’t care about it, right?”
I leaned forward and kissed her mouth. She was right, but I didn’t want to talk about it anymore. Instead I kissed her hard.
“You can’t kiss me every time I have a question that you don’t want to answer,” she said, against my mouth.
