After reading The Hunger Games, I wanted to write a kick-ass heroine on my own. And as a girl obsessed with Maggie Q in Nikita (the only Asian bad-ass I was regularly seeing on my screen), it’s really no surprise that my mind went to spy thriller.
Originally, I wanted to write this as a graph novel, but I didn’t take the time to learn how to draw it well enough that I’d be okay releasing it. Maybe I will one day, but for now, it’s in the medium I know best: the novel.
